Ultimate Guide for Using our Templates « Back to list

Designer working at laptop and 3D printer

If you are a print reseller, it’s very likely that your customers will want their own custom designs included onto their digital print products. Luckily, at Trade Digital Print, we make it easy for you to design your own artwork using our informative template guides. In this post, we take you through the process step by step so that you’re well equipped to create a digital print that your customers will love!

How to Create your Own Artwork by Using our Template Guidelines

1. Choose a Product

The first and perhaps most important stage of artwork is selecting a product. At TradeDigitalPrint.co.uk, we have a wide range of high-quality digital print products – all accompanied by a selection of informative template guidelines so that you can create artwork with the perfect dimensions.

2. Download a File

Next, it’s time to download a template guideline. We have guides for PDF files, Adobe InDesign files and Adobe Illustrator files. Just choose the guide that matches your design software of choice.

3. Create your Artwork in the File

Once the file has been downloaded, you have the freedom to design your artwork onto the template in whichever way you choose. This is your time to get creative and wow your customers with designs that surpass their expectations. Remember:

  • All images should be supplied at 300dpi
  • Keep artwork at least 5mm from the edge
  • For small format work of A3 and under, use font size 7pt
  • For large-format work, don’t go lower than font size 11pt
  • Check your overprint settings are correct
  • Supply your artwork with 3mm bleed added all round

4. Place Order and Upload File as a Print Ready PDF

Finally, place your order and save your file as a Print Ready PDF before uploading. Supplying a print-ready PDF not only eliminates all of the extra files you would have traditionally sent to a printing company, but it will also speed your file through our pre-press department as we won’t need to load everything into our system. By supplying a print-ready PDF you create a simple workflow between you and us, enabling a hassle-free transition from design through to print and delivery.
